Anesthesia & Analgesia is one of the premier journals in the fields of perioperative medicine, critical care, and pain management. Our authors report fundamental scientific advances in these clinical disciplines, and document the clinical, administrative, and educational developments that guide therapy. Our audience is highly engaged, viewing and downloading Anesthesia & Analgesia more than a half-million times every month. As the largest journal in the field, Anesthesia & Analgesia presents the busy clinician with a dilemma: which articles are most relevant to my interests and my practice?
AA2day was created to help readers navigate the content of Anesthesia & Analgesia. We will succinctly review many of the articles in the current month’s issue of Anesthesia & Analgesia. However, context is often as important as content. AA2day will provide context, including visits to the labs of authors whose work is published in the journal, descriptions of statistical approaches used in the published studies, and interviews with authors to provide insight into the rationale behind the reported work.
AA2day is about people: our readers, our authors, and our patients. Our goal is to foster dialog, engaging you, our reader, in a discussion about the research and clinical findings reported in Anesthesia & Analgesia. We invite you to respond, and welcome your thoughts and observations. The rules for AA2day are the same as those for Anesthesia & Analgesia: dialog must be civil, respectful, and collaborative.
Naveen Nathan MD, Cover Editor for Anesthesia & Analgesia and Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesiology and Assistant Director of Education, designed our header. It portrays the sunlight coming in from the U.S. and streaming across the globe, sending data streams that convey scientific results, suggested by the subtle graph paper backdrop on the right, leading to interpretation by the neurons. We hope you like it.
Please feel free to let us know how we are doing and/or provide suggestions for improvement.
Welcome to AA2day!
